Master Instructor John Olson has a straightforward, no nonsense, non watered down, reality based approach to his teaching. His current students are some of the finest in the country and have also won many Grand Championship awards. Master Olson has been training in Karate since March of 1979 and is considered to be one of the top instructors in the country. His passion for teaching shows in every class and his desire to make his students the best they can be is always his goal. Master Olson has been trained by some of the highest ranking Black Belts in the country and his lineage leads directly back to Americas first Black Belt and National Champion, 10th Degree Black Belt Grand Master J. Pat Burleson of Fort Worth Texas who received his Black Belt in 1963 by the "Father of U.S. Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate), Grand Master Jhoon Rhee. Master Olson was a regional and national competitor in both Sparring and Forms with many Grand Championship awards. He also competed in Full Contact Karate and Underground Fighting and is a student of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. These experiences grew his knowledge base and he relies on these experiences in his teaching. Master Olson is also a member of the World Martial Arts Ranking Association (www.WMARA.net) member number 694. Master Olson was inducted into the Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame in January 2016.
